Mental Health Awareness Week is being marked in so many beneficial ways by charities, helplines and communities. Norfolk & Waveney Mind, a mental health charity, are doing just that. Visit their website to tour a virtual ‘Festival Of Kindness’. It really is a celebration of events, music, talks and activities for everyone and offers some great wellbeing advice.
About 1 in 4 people experience mental health problems each year so it’s important to know how we can help them. Here are some top tips to help someone:
- Express concern and say you can help.
- Reassure them.
- Offer your time to listen.
- Act as you usually do together.
- Be patient.
- Offer practical help.
