This week is international men’s health week, the aim to promote and raise awareness of health challenges which specifically affect men.
So what a great opportunity for us to help prompt our client and the amazing work that their team do with testing and monitoring with the hope of catching early diagnosis for prostate cancer.
We first started working with
GFCT (Graham Fulford Charitable Trust) in 2019 just prior to COVID when they were bringing on board a number of charities and partners to hold events up and down the country for prostate cancer blood tests. Graham set up the charity following the loss of a good friend and family member to prostate cancer and wanted to promote awareness and encourage men to get a test. “Since
2004 together with their partners, GFCT have been involved in testing over 115,000 men and conducting over 176,000 tests so far (25
th March 2022) consequently there has been over 2,150 known cancers identified that otherwise may not have been discovered”

These events were proving to be very popular and Empresa helped change the manual administration from paper based to a computerised solution to reduce the workload involved for the team. However, when covid hit the ability to do these events in person was limiting and finally impossible during full lock-down. As the system was already in place we were able to help provide an online home testing kit procedure for GFCT and at least the opportunity to maintain testing was still in place, and is still available today and so for those who are unable to travel or just want to test in the comfort and privacy of their own home this allows the ability to do so. The system is constantly being developed and improved drawing more and more charities and partners to it, providing accessible testing to the community.
So why not embrace men’s health week and take a moment to book a test, or order an online kit. It takes just four simple steps. Why not send the link to your family and friends so they too can have the opportunity to get tested. The test is available to all men who are aged 40 and over, it is never too late to start testing.
